How five days works

How five days actually works

Day 0

Scope lock

A 30-minute call. We write down exactly what you get, what it costs, and the delivery date. NDA signed if you have one. You send interfaces: robot model and payload, mating geometry or STEP, envelope, utilities, your drafting standard. Day 1 starts when the signed scope and your files are in hand, not when the call ends.

Day 1

Concept and interface check

Layout and blockout. We confirm envelope, mounting, stroke, payload and moment before anything gets detailed. You approve the direction. This is the one approval that can move the date.

Day 2-3

Detail modeling

Custom parts detailed for the capability of whoever builds them. Purchased components selected from the vendors you named on day zero.

Day 4

Drawings and BOM

Detail drawings, assembly drawing, hardware callouts, itemized BOM with lead-time flags.

Day 5

Release package

Native files, STEP, full PDF drawing set, BOM spreadsheet and the design memo, plus a walkthrough call so your team can pick it up cold.

Scope and payment

One subassembly means one station, one function, up to ten custom parts requiring drawings, and one motion concept. Interfaces come from you as models or dimensioned references. Paid in full to book the slot. Got something bigger, multiple stations or a full cell? We quote those the same way, fixed price and fixed date. Say so on the form and we will price it properly.

Our Guarantee

If your package is late for any reason on our side, the job is free. If what we deliver does not match the scope we locked on day zero, we fix it, and if we cannot, you do not pay. The clock starts when the signed scope and your files are in hand, and it pauses if a question we send goes unanswered past one business day. That is the only thing on your side that can move day five, and we will tell you the moment it happens rather than after.

Who actually does the work?

One senior mechanical designer, ten years in CAD, eight of them building material handling and robotic work cells inside an Illinois automation integrator. The engineer on your scope call owns the job start to finish and signs off on every sheet. Nothing is offshored, and nothing leaves here without that review.

Will you sign our NDA?

Yes, before any files move. Send yours on the intake call, or use ours.

Who owns the design?

You do. Native files, drawings and IP are assigned to you on delivery. We publish nothing without written permission.

What CAD do you work in?

SOLIDWORKS 2022, delivered as native files plus STEP, DXF, DWG and PDF so the package opens on any seat. Send us 2022-or-earlier files, STEP or Parasolid and we can work from any of them.

Do you know our robot?

Most of our work has been FANUC, and the sizing method is the same whatever the badge. We work to the payload, moment and inertia limits on your robot's datasheet and show the numbers in the design memo.

What if we need changes?

One revision round is included, turned around within five business days of delivery. Anything outside the locked scope gets quoted before we touch it.

What if the scope is bigger than it looked?

We tell you on day one, not day five, and re-quote before doing the work. No surprise invoices.

Can you stamp drawings?

No. We are not a PE firm and we do not stamp. If your job needs a stamp we will build the package so your stamping engineer can review it cleanly, and we will tell you on the intake call rather than at delivery.

How soon can you start?

We hold a limited number of slots at a time, which is exactly why the five-day date holds. If we cannot hit your date we will say so on the call rather than take the job and hope.
